Invitation to Umpire at the 2016 Thailand Para Open Championships in Pattaya


The Table Tennis Association of Thailand, alongside the Sports Association for the Disabled of Thailand, invites International Umpires to officiate at the forthcoming 2016 Thailand Para Open Championships.

A Factor 40 tournament for World Ranking, to be held in Pattaya, the playing days are Monday 9th October to Wednesday 12th October.

Magnificent Seven, Team Gold Follows Individual Gold


Success one day earlier by securing titles in the individual events at the 2016 Indonesia Para Open Championships in Karanganyar; no less than seven players added to that success one day later on Saturday 23rd July, by claiming the top prize in the team competitions.

Thailandís Yuttajak Glinbanchuen, Egyptís Mohamed Sameh Eid Saleh and Indonesiaís David Jacobs, alongside the Japanese duo of Nobuyuki Suzuki and Hideo Tamai were the male players to achieve the feat; for the ladies Thailandís Darat Asayut and the host nationís Shella Dwi Radayana likewise secured gold in both disciplines.

Shella Dwi Radayana Adds to Collection, Four Masters Titles for Host Nation


Successful in the preceding junior tournament when she won the Womenís Singles Class 8-10 title, the host nationís Shella Dwi Radayana added to her collection of silverware, when she struck gold in Womenís Singles Class 9-10 at the immediately ensuing Indonesia Para Masters Tournament in Karanganyar.

In an event organised on a group basis, she finished ahead of colleagues Hana Resty, Aminah Aminah and Malaysiaís Nasuah Mohd Anuar.

Paralympic Games Debuts, Leading Nigeriaís Challenge in Rio de Janeiro

Prominent at the 2015 African Para Championships in Agadir, Emmanuel Chinedu Nick and Ahmed Owolabi Koleosho will fly the flag for Nigeria at the forthcoming Rio 2016 Paralympic Games; play commencing on Thursday 8th September.

Notably last October in the Moroccan city Ahmed Owolabi Koleosho won gold in Menís Singles Class 1-3; Emmanuel Chinedu Nick concluded proceedings as the silver medallist in Class 4.

Josť Manuel Ruiz Reyes, Spanish Standard Bearer for Rio 2016 Paralympic Games

Winner of the Menís Singles Class 10 event, on home soil at the 2016 Spanish Para Open Championships just over one month ago in El Prat de Llobregat, Josť Manuel Ruiz Reyes has a host of medals to his name.

He has won in Europe and beyond; notably at the 2010 World Para Championships in the Korean city of Gwangju, he secured the Menís Open Singles Standing title.

Titles for Host Nation as Junior Events Conclude in Karanganyar


Success came the way of the host nation on Wednesday 20th July as matters concluded in the junior events at the 2016 Indonesia Para Open Championships in Karanganyar.

Shella Dwi Radayana won Womenís Singles Class 8-10, whilst Banyu Tri Mulyo captured the Menís Singles Class 7-8 title. Three competitions in total, the one further top prize went to Malaysiaís Chee Chao Ming; he won Menís Singles Class 9-10.

Star Player of Year, David Jacobs Heads List on Home Soil


Staged in Lisbon on Wednesday 9th December in the Patio da Gale; at the 2015 ITTF Star Awards Evening, David Jacobs was voted the 2015 Male Para Table Tennis Player of Year.

At the forthcoming 2016 Indonesia Para Open Championships, playing on home soil in Karanganyar, the 39 year old, who competes in Class 10, is very much the name to note in the five day Factor 20 tournament.

Chinenye Faith Obiora, Championing the Female Cause for Nigeria

Crowned African champion when she won the Womenís Singles Class 1-5 title in Agadir, Morocco last October, Chinenye Faith Obiora flies the flag for Nigeria at the forthcoming Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

She is the one female amongst the three players from the West African country who will be competing in the Brazilian city. Ahmed Koleosho (Class 3) and Emmanuel Nick (Class 4) are the two male players named on the entry list.
